Monsters of Folk = GENIUS

By far my favorite album of the year, sorry rae,

There is no reason you shouldnt listen to this album,

Its just too good plain and simple,

They are the traveling wilburys of our generation,

Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, M. Ward, Yim Yames are Monsters of Folk.

The first song I heard this morning,

The World by Nas (prod. by Kanye)

I've had this song on my ipod for a few months now but I actually paid attention to the song this morning. Nas is an amazing lyricist he can paint a picture in just a few words. As I listened to it I thought about the situation im in right about now and it was crazy how much it opened up my eyes. Thanks Nas and thanks to Kanye for the beat.

how to finish a sunday right.

these dudes are dope!

Found out about them when I heard Adam's Case Files by 88-keys. Tanya Morgan sounds like a female R&B singer but they are one of the dopest hip hop trios to come outta New York, Check em out!

cop this!

Dope to the millionth power!

anthony green.

Anything this dude touches turns gold. In my opinion he has one of the best voices ever. He is currently the lead singer of Circa Survive, he is also one of the singers in The Sound of Animals Fighting (Which is an amazing super group), and he was a member of Saosin. This is a great album I fully recommend it!

Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins.

I seriously think women make the best music and I think Jenny Lewis & The Watson Twins are great. You guys need to check out the album Rabbit Fur Coat, Fire Songs, & Acid Tongue which are amazing albums.

perfect way to start a Saturday:)

Dont get me started on my love for alt-country!

2 best albums of 08!

Why do I love music from the D?

Because of the great emcees and producers that come from there.

The Preface & The Tronic were hands down my favorite releases of '08,

both albums were produced by Black Milk (a great producer I love his drums!).

Both of these guys are affiliated with Slum Village so you knows its all good music.

eLZhi is on my top 5 Dead or Alive MCs, every bar on The Preface is FIRE! best lyricism ive heard in soo long! The Tronic is just as great! The production on both albums is amzn!

Favorite Tracks: Save Ya feat. T3, Talking In My Sleep, Losing Out feat. Royce da 5'9", The Matrix feat. Pharoah Monch, Sean Price, DJ Premier

This is great lyricism!

love is conditional
i never knew that mary’d put a whole in my fishin’ boat
i got to trippin mo’she went to bitchin’ mo
the court of universal law said it wasn’t permissible
she went to forte
i stayed pianissimo
then i went to forte
and she went to physical
should i go?
should i stay and withstand the additional
attacks on the mental and the physical?
its gon get dangerouswhy waste time in these childlike exchanges
why waste time with these childlike games
its just make up to break up
cryin’ all the time baby messin’ up your makeup
try and scratch my face up
she say “i need communication jay but you don’t say much”
i know it ain’t okay but…
i’m from where niggas keep they mouths closed and the gate shut.
it seems like only yesterday that i was just a kid in christian dior velour, ballys and a shape up…spinnin’ on cardboard
and tryna rip a break up.
life comes at you fast.
i went from sleepin’ in class to sleepin’ the streets forgettin’ where i wake up
.when i was hit with trial,
i slipped into survivalmode
and did alotta shit a nigga wasn’t proud of
so…so when i be sittin’ on the couch with a blank head,
i be at the homeless shelter Jefferson in Bankhead.
a jack sippin dank headmakin’ sure niggas don’t steal my clothes,
tryna make a path so i fulfill my goals,
tryna take a bath so i can heal my soul…
a little bit of laughter to conceal my woes…
who gon save me?

UGK4LIFE in stores today!

Even though Im not a big fan of southern rap it doesnt mean I dont love the south. I was born in the south raised in the south ( technically the southwest). What makes me proud of being from TX is UGK. They started southern rap and set the bar for it. No other southern rapper will ever surpass UGK. Bun B and Pimp C (RIP) are the true kings of the south. Today UGKs last album came out it is named UGK 4 LIFE and it is amazing what Bun B did to keep Pimp C's legacy alive. If Pimp C wouldve been alive today this album would have over 20 tracks sadly it was cut short to 16 tracks either way this album should not be overlooked. Simply Amazing!

"God first, family, then money in the south!"
