Dr. Octagon

Kool Keith & Dan the Automator
I found this comment while watching this vid, and it stuck out.
Oh my God. I didnt even know Kool Keith had a video for this bangin as song! Man, I used to get put out of my homeboys car for tryin to make him listen to this upper-level type hip hop shit! He wanted to stay in the garbage can with Puff Daddy, Mase and other bums like that. His daughter just got suspended from school for dancing the "stanky leg" on a cafeteria table during lunch period. coincidence? I think not. Ignorance is genetic sometimes. - Mrwesdaddy

The first song I heard this morning,

I've had this song on my ipod for a few months now but I actually paid attention to the song this morning. Nas is an amazing lyricist he can paint a picture in just a few words. As I listened to it I thought about the situation im in right about now and it was crazy how much it opened up my eyes. Thanks Nas and thanks to Kanye for the beat.

wow.

Rocksmith will release two t-shirts to commemorate the highly anticipated on-stage return of Black Star, the legendary duo of Mos Def and Talib Kweli on May 30th. The two designs will be available during the Black Star show at Nokia Theater in NYC. A limited quantity will also be available on Karmaloop.com. The Black Star concert, presented by Blacksmith and LiveNDirect, will consist of an early and late show on one day only.
Props to HighSnobiety!

these dudes are dope!

Found out about them when I heard Adam's Case Files by 88-keys. Tanya Morgan sounds like a female R&B singer but they are one of the dopest hip hop trios to come outta New York, Check em out!

a trap classic

I seriously think this is the best Neptunes production (kill me if im wrong). The Clipse are two of the most badass mthrfkrs ever to rap. They make slangin yay sound chill. This is one of the best recent hip hop albums out there, and its perfect summer music. The hooks are good, the raps are better, and the overall production is amazing. This is some raw shit!

has me at tears...

Every time I listen to Bria's Interlude from So Far Gone ;). This song is madd good that's all I have to say. So Far Gone is a great mixtape and Bria's Interlude is only the tip of the iceberg there's 16 other great tracks! Its all free the chopped & Screwed version is just as good. I still cant get over the fact that he's Jimmy from Degrassi.

2 best albums of 08!

Why do I love music from the D?
Because of the great emcees and producers that come from there.
The Preface & The Tronic were hands down my favorite releases of '08,
both albums were produced by Black Milk (a great producer I love his drums!).
Both of these guys are affiliated with Slum Village so you knows its all good music.
eLZhi is on my top 5 Dead or Alive MCs, every bar on The Preface is FIRE! best lyricism ive heard in soo long! The Tronic is just as great! The production on both albums is amzn!
Favorite Tracks: Save Ya feat. T3, Talking In My Sleep, Losing Out feat. Royce da 5'9", The Matrix feat. Pharoah Monch, Sean Price, DJ Premier

First things first

This man was the most amazing man that ever lived. James Dewitt Yancey also known as J Dilla or Jay Dee, was the best producer of our time, everything this man made was pure gold. If you know who he is you can see my blog is heavily inspired him. I started producing music and Jay Dee has been my inspiration from the start. He is legendary; Hip hop would not be the same without him; music would not be the same without him. Thank you for everything J Dilla.
Rest In Peace,
James Dewitt Yancey
